Learn Manx 2.2

Learn Manx serves as an effective introduction to Manx Gaelic, offering a structured and engaging approach for those beginning their language journey. The first ten units are thoughtfully designed to establish foundational patterns crucial for communicating in the language. Through exercises and dialogues, learners gain familiarity with conversational Manx, enhancing their speaking skills.

This application is beneficial for both complete novices and those with some prior knowledge of Manx who seek to refresh their skills. The inclusion of a voice-recording and playback feature allows users to practice speaking by responding to prompts and comparing their oral responses with model answers, fostering a more interactive learning experience.

The course includes revision lessons centered around the theme of the TT Races, which effectively combines language learning with elements of enjoyment and humor, promoting a more engaging atmosphere for learners.

Developed in alignment with the successful adult language course, Saase-jeeragh, created by the Manx Heritage Foundation, this app incorporates key features such as:

• Hundreds of words and basic phrases providing a solid language foundation
• Opportunities to respond to questions and compare answers with model solutions
• Dialogues and comprehension exercises
• Summaries of essential language patterns
• An integrated bilingual dictionary with audio support
• A flashcard learning system designed for vocabulary revision
